Reminder: Illinois Minimum Wage is Increasing

Effective July 1, 2020, the Illinois Minimum Wage will increase to $10 an hour. It is also important to note that some suburbs of Cook County* will increase their minimum wage to $13 an hour and Chicago will increase theirs to $14 an hour. This is all part of the planned increases to bring Illinois’ minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025.

As companies begin to reopen their doors and welcome new employees into their workforce, your pay rate is one of the first things applicants will look at. Please feel free to reach out to your XCEL Sales Representative if you would like to further discuss pay rates that are both competitive and attractive to employees.

*Some municipalities have opted out of the Cook County minimum wage increases. Please check with your local village website to confirm your area’s minimum wage.
